Explore the world’s oldest continuous Iiving culture first-hand
To celebrate NAIDOC week (6-13th July) why not visit Kings Park? Kings Park Guides acknowledge the Whadjuk Noongar people as the traditional custodians of Kings Park. The land of Kings Park is part of Whadjuk boodja (country), known to the Whadjuk people by many names – Kaarta Koomba, Karata Gur-up, Kata Moor – and it is of great cultural significance to them. While you are there join a Kings Park Guide on one of the many walks we have on offer.
There is also the option of a self-guided Boodja Gnarning walk through the Botanic Gardens – ask for a leaflet at the Visitor Information Centre or download one here. Explore the world’s oldest continuous living culture first-hand.
Around the park during the year, you may see children taking part in the the Kings Park Education programme, Noongar Boodja. It is running for the fifth year and provides opportunities for children to better understand and engage with Noongar culture.
